Thanks for inside scoop on sportswriters view of game. Have attended the OSU/UofO game since the early 1960’s and this Beaver comeback was one of the best! Beavs have lots of heart and underdog motivations to win the big game! Go Beavs!
Mark, Thanks for sharing this story within the story. While most coverage focuses on the major elements of the event, the more subtle “behind the scenes” exchanges can be very important. The loosing teams media room has to be a somber experience. Interesting that you didn’t know which media room to attend until the last minute or two.
Did you ask any players or coaches what your writing an article entitled “Civil War“ means to them? Without doing so, the title night come off like an incomplete, tone deaf, one-sided political half effort. What did your editor Gary say, besides my last sentence is a run on? 😊
Seems like an obvious politically-charged question that was never the point of the article. In fact, one of the players referred to in the article actually used the term "Civil War" in describing the game. The quotes I used in the title can reflect upon a term no longer used (for a variety of reasons) that many people still identify with a place, event, etc. Thanks for your input.

Thanks again. I’m enjoying your “work”.
Being inside really made for an interesting perspective. Thanks, Dave.

Great job Mark! Great insight into another aspect of sports and what a broadcaster does! Enjoyed it !
This was so interesting! A part of the game I never thought about. I can’t remember a more exciting game between these two team.
