Beaver fans need to let Smith move on. OSU and WSU should have been looking to defect to another Power 5 conference once the implosion began, instead of filing court documents and crying in their Budweisers. Smith, like the rest of us, sees the writing on the wall, now. The PAC-12 presidents realized, once LA sought greed, everyone else would too. The PAC is dead. No sense in accepting a Group of Five conference membership. Grab the money, exposure, and momentum while you can. Good luck, Jonathan.

It's a disgrace for the ages… The demise of the Pac-12…. Goodbye tradition, goodbye natural rivalries, goodbye nostalgia, hello GREED.

Clearly staying with Oregon State and shoring it up through this historically tumultuous time in it's football history is too daunting for Jonathan Smith to see through his contract and commitment to the Beaver nation. This is so very disappointing to learn but I am confident the Beavers will survive this and find a coach who will be the right fit for their program to build it's vision moving forward.

I'm Not sure OSU Fans should come down with hate and bitterness towards Coach J Smith. I am basically a O/U Football fan. Not a fan of the O/U left wing-lunacy pushed at the O/U. The Pac-12 Schools leaving for, yes greed and with the blessing of the NCAA that wants an easier "March Madness" NCAA DIV one Collage Football format for the ultimate Champion. I guess the current format, the two best teams meet and a winner raises from the "mud, Blood and the Beer" doesn't bank roll the Pac-12 Schools any longer nor pleasing the NCAA . I for one was rooting for Coach J Smith's Bevs Friday night. He has done an amazing job at OSU, he's left the cupboard full. But the NCAA PORTAL TRANFER B/S well I'm guessing empty this OSU player cupboard. Who's going to pay for all the coast-to-coast air miles the PAC-12 and NCAA well be creating, you think maybe a huge increase in tuition at these PCA-12 schools jumping ship, what say you. Good Luck Coach J Smith you did good work who can blame you. NCAA, PAC-12 not good work you helped a good OSU Coach make a tough choice.
