I knew 64 was his number as soon as I heard Dave Wilcox. I loved John Brodie, Gene Washington, Matt Hazeltine. Saw 49ers vs Vikings at Worlds Fair in Seattle.

Thanks again Mark. As usual very good read! Over my years involved with football which included those memorable years with your dad I was always checking to see how the Wilcox family was doing. They were a great State of Oregon football family!!

Another memorable share. A lot of 49ers fans in my family, though at age 9, I was devoted to the Packers, because of a longtime childhood friend who had moved from near Green Bay. And, there are so many memorabilia I have misplaced over the years, but still faintly residing in my brain.

Dave Wilcox was my great uncle. During that game you referenced in Eugene he had many of the players sign a 49ers football. The football went to my uncle who had been injured in Vietnam. Dave gave him the football and he still has it. There was also an autographed picture of Dave that hung around my grandparent's house just like the one you showed. After Dave was inducted into the football hall of fame he gave everyone in the family some memorabilia. Whenever I go to any family members house there is always at least a coffee cup with Dave's picture on it. He was a good guy and loved talking about football and farming.

MR. Gilman you are bring back some great memories. Growing up in the once Great Rose City of Portland, OR. Borther Art and I would take the Portland transit system aka "Rosie" to the Portland Civic Stadium where the Pro football teams: 49ers, Vikings, Chargers, Rams and Oakland of the day played Per season games. This was in the lates 1950's and 1960's. I loved watching the 49res John Brodie going against Joe Cap's Vikings. God Bless your Dad for taking you to Fredie's that day in 1969.
