Snow postpones start of State Wrestling Championships
Weather conditions have shut down the Portland’s Memorial Coliseum
Oregon Championship wrestling will NOT be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Portland on Thursday, thanks to Mother Nature.
Oregon School Activities Association meet organizers made the announcement Wednesday night.
“Due to inclement weather and city / county-wide state of emergencies, the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Rose Quarter has informed the OSAA that its campus is closed on Thursday, February 23.”
“The OSAA is working to develop a revised schedule,” according to the release, “and will provide updates as soon as possible.”
At least one media outlet is reporting the possibility of some championship matches being moved to Sunday, although there has been no confirmation of that option from the OSAA itself.
OSAA officials are encouraging the public to visit www.osaa.org or follow the OSAA Social Media accounts for the latest tournament information.
