McNary on OSAA 6A football list to move to 5A; Coach not really interested
Celtics have lost eighteen straight games in the last two years
McNary High School’s football team has gone winless the last two years at the varsity level. The Oregon School Activities Association has listed the Celts, along with eight other 6A programs, on a list for stepping down to the 5A classification beginning next year.
The list from the OSSA’s football ad hoc committee was presented at its meeting on December 15. As many as 27 teams across Oregon could drop a level next season. The OSAA rules for football allow football teams to play down a classification if they win less than 22 percent of their games over a two-year period against opponents who are from the same classification.
