Girls and boys have been playing non-league games--League contests start next week

Prep basketball fans across Oregon have undoubtably been tracking their favorite teams as they prepare for the official start of league play—which comes together the first week of the new year.

Gilman on Sports has been monitoring the early contests while not really covering any of them. Last year, considerable time was spent on the Capital City Classic tournament—and the several teams again spent some time at that magnificently coordinated event.

At the risk of alienating readers, the decision was made to save-up energy for the start of the regular basketball season, leaving more effort for the post season in the spring.

So, for your examination—here are previews of the girls and the boys varsity teams for the 2024 Central Valley Conference year.
