Corban University has tabbed Kary Hadden to be the interim head coach of the Warrior men's wrestling program. Hadden—who had served as the assistant coach of the team—assumed his head coaching duties in late June.
"We are thrilled that Kary has agreed to step into the head coach role here at Corban," said athletic director Sue Roth. "We are fortunate to have him here as he is such an icon in the wrestling world. I know he will continue to build upon the men's wresting program's strong foundation."
Hadden replaces Keegan Davis, whom Hadden had assisted since the program began in 2019.
Hadden was a standout high school wrestling coach at Sprague High of Salem, where he directed the Olympians for 25 years. In his time as a coach, Hadden has directed his teams to 16 conference titles, and 17-top ten finishes in the state wrestling tournament. He has also helped to produce 74 state placers at the Oregon State Championships, 12 individual state champions, and five high school All-Americans.
Hadden has worked alongside Keegan Davis since the program started in 2019 and will continue to coach and disciple the young men on the team in the 2022-23 season. Former girls wrestling coach Stryder Davis left this past spring to become head wrestling coach at Wayland Baptist of Texas. Corban’s girls program has been shut down.
Coach Haden is one of the best of the best wrestling coaches. Great hire for Corbin!
